Planning architectural wrapping for offices and hotels
For facilities managers, designers and hotel teams, architectural wrapping refurbishes joinery, doors, lifts and counters in place. This guide covers how to plan it. The service is described on KWrap architectural wrapping.

1. Survey and scope
Start with a walk-round: what is to be wrapped, its condition, and what must stay in use. A schedule of items (doors, desks, tea points, reception counters, lift cars) makes quoting and phasing straightforward.
2. Specification
Designers can specify film by reference, including 3M Di-Noc. Where there is no specification, KWrap proposes films to suit the surface, the wear it will get and the budget, and brings samples to site.
3. Fire data
Many architectural films carry fire classifications when applied to specified substrates. The classification depends on the film and what it is applied to, so the fire data is confirmed against the building's requirements before work starts.
4. Phasing and access
Work is planned area by area so the building stays open. Hotels can release rooms in blocks; offices can be done floor by floor or out of hours. Agree access, keys, lift use and parking in advance, especially in central London.
5. Handover
Keep a record of the film codes used in each area. It makes future repairs and extensions match exactly.
